Award-winning country band to perform in town

Prepare to be fired up on Wednesday, July 24 when the Department of Parks and Recreation presents Gunsmoke, the award winning country band, from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park.

Gunsmoke performs classic country, western swing and rockabilly music, all in one package, and is proud to be recognized as a leader in carrying the torch for traditional country music. Their shows include a wide variety of music specializing in the sounds of legendary artists such as Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and many more.

As Nashville Recording Artists, Gunsmoke just returned from performing in Nashville, Tenn. on the Shotgun Red Variety Show. The band has recorded six albums and has won numerous awards and recognition for original material and recording projects. They have also been inducted into the Connecticut Country Music Hall of Fame, the Country Music and Dance Hall of Fame and elected Band of the Year six years in a row by the New York Metro CMA.

This premier country band always brings an entertaining show for all ages to enjoy, organizers said.

Bring a picnic dinner, blanket and the family to enjoy a wonderful concert under the stars.
