Greenwich’s Salute to Veterans brings patriotic spirit

Before the Fourth of July festivities even began last week, Greenwich got started with the red, white and blue celebration on  June 29 with the annual Salute to Veterans.

The festivities took place on Havemeyer Field behind Town Hall and featured music, a salute to World War II veterans and speeches from decorated military members including Greenwich resident and former Navy SEAL Carl Higbie and former Col. Jack Jacobs, an analyst for NBC and a Medal of Honor winner for his courageous service during the Vietnam War.

Full coverage of the event is in the July 3 edition of the Post and here online. Post photographer John Ferris Robben was on hand to capture the best moments of the event and this is a slideshow of his work.
