Parks and Rec presents Bob Button Orchestra

Strike up the band — the Department of Parks and Recreation has announced that the Bob Button Orchestra will perform an array of big  band classics at a free concert at Binney Park on July 10 from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m.

The popular 12-piece orchestra will present a program of songs as originally recorded by the famous bands of the swing era. Gail Clear is the featured vocalist. Button and Bows, a talented group of female singers, will also appear with the band for this performance.

A portable dance floor will be installed in front of the bandstand for those who would like to dance while listening.

This is the first Parks & Recreation Wednesday Night Concert of the summer season. Upcoming concerts at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park will feature Billy and the Showmen performing R&B on July 17, and Gunsmoke, a popular country band, on July 24. The Parks & Recreation department invites residents to bring the family, a picnic dinner, relax and listen to some wonderful music under the stars for free.
