Polo benefit to raise funds for needy families

Virginia’s House of Hope will host its first Polo Benefit Charity Match on Sunday, July 14 at the Greenwich Polo Club at Conyers Farm.

The event marks Virginia’s House of Hope’s intent to expand the organization from aiding families in New York’s five boroughs to those in neighboring Connecticut.

In addition to entertainment, refreshments and lunch, there will be a silent and live auction at the polo match with items donated by a variety of organizations. Some items include exotic four- and five-night South African safaris for two, a personal swim clinic with Ryan Lochte, VIP tickets to the Golf Masters, an Italian Villa stay for up to 20, a La Mer facial for one, VIP tickets to the Super Bowl, a Judith Ripka jewelry bar, a Red Mountain Aspen villa for eight to 10 guests and a luxury yacht charter in Spain.

Children attend the event for free and there will be fun games and crafts planned for them, as well as a special children’s menu.

All money and donations raised by Virginia’s House of Hope during the event will provide underprivileged families with clothing, food and other basic necessities as well as raise money for the Maritime Cooperative Program.
