Greenwich High girls relays teams finish top 20 in national meet

The Greenwich High School girls track and field team ended the season in grand style earlier this month by competing at the High School National Track and Field Championships in North Carolina.

The Lady Cardinals sent three relay teams to the championships.

The 4×100-meter relay team, comprised of Lindsey Noskin, Naomi Leeds, Anna Black and Anna Giannuzzi finished 12th in the country and netted a 49.85 seconds. The Lady Cardinals were one-half a second away from overtaking Danbury High School for 11th.

In the 4×200-meter relay, the foursome of Noskin, Black, Leeds and Giannuzzi took home 15th overall with a time of 1:47.13. Greenwich’s time was a school record and they just beat out Andover, Mass., who took 16th with a time of 1:47.44.

Not to be outdone was the Greenwich High 1,600-meter sprint medley relay team. The group of Noskin, Leeds, Black and Kathryn Bernstein finished eighth in the country, posting a time of 4:19.40. Not only did their time set a school record, but they were less than a second away from grabbing seventh overall.
