John Street work to begin June 17

Commencing on June 17, construction will begin on the replacement of the John Street Bridge.

The bridge is on John Street between Riversville and Round Hill roads. As part of the construction work, the road is scheduled to be closed at the bridge site from Tuesday, June 25, to Sept. 27. The new bridge is scheduled to be completed by December.

This project was designed by Fuss and O’Neill, Inc. of Manchester. The construction will be performed by A. Vitti Excavators, LLC of Stamford. The construction contract for the project is for $709,216.50.

The following detour will be established: Traffic wanting to travel eastbound on John Street shall utilize Riversville Road south to North Porchuck Road east to West Old Mill Road east to Round Hill Road.

Traffic wanting to travel westbound on John Street shall utilize Round Hill Road south to West Old Mill Road west to North Porchuck Road west to Riversville Road.
