Presbyterian church unveils adventurous new camp

It’s never too early to turn your youngster into an adventurer which is why the First Presbyterian Church Nursery School has unveiled its new summer camp program, Little Explorers.

Beginning June 17 and running through Aug. 8, the church will provide their brand new innovative response to summer camp for children ages two and one-half to six-years-old. Children will have the opportunity to explore, create and be curious through a high interest program extending over three sessions — Science: A World of Discovery, Bodies in Motion: The Magic of Music, Creative Dramatics and Discovering Movement and Children Around the World: Understanding and Appreciating the Cultures of Mexico and Africa through Language, Geography, Music and Cooking.

Each session will include exploratory indoor play, outdoor discovery as well as water play, use of the playgrounds and the new weather station, opportunities to learn about harvest-to-table through use of the organic vegetable garden, as well as visits to the newly designed media center.

Little Explorers was conceived by the dedicated preschool staff and will be facilitated by the seasoned teaching staff of the Nursery School. The schedule varies between three and four days per week (based on age) and runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.

Enrollment is ongoing and children are invited to join for one day, one week or the whole summer. For further details, contact the Nursery School office at 203-869-7782.
