Preserve precious memories at Historical Society event

Ever wish you could bottle up your memories? On June 9 you’ll get your chance with a memory jar making event hosted by the Greenwich Historical Society.

The organization’s current exhibition, From Italy to America, is filled with important family memories and treasures and part of it has been designed to tell people how to preserve what’s precious about their own pasts. Participants can share their own family memories by creating representations of them and preserving the results in a Mason jar. All craft materials will be supplied by the Historical Society but participants are also welcome to bring personal items such as copies of photos, trinkets, souvenirs, clippings and other memorabilia to contribute to the project. Participants may drop in any time between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 9. The program is free with admission to the exhibition. For more information call, 203-869-6899, ext. 10 or visit greenwichhistory.org.
