Planting the seeds for healthy living

The Garden Education Center (GEC) of Greenwich is warming up its green thumb for the Sprouts and Seedlings pre-school enrichment program this month.

The program is taught by dedicated teachers who offer hands-on lessons rooted in science, art, literature, math and dramatic play to encourage the development of the whole child — mentally, emotionally and physically.

The GEC and the grounds of the Montgomery Pinetum serve as a safe venue for parents to allow their children to explore nature in a way that’s largely absent in today’s world. The program is open to pre-schoolers, ages three to six, who will be guided by teachers who plant the seeds of life-long learning, healthy living and good stewardship.

Sprouts and Seedlings will take place over two weeks: June 10 to June 14 and June 17 to June 21 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. each day. For more information, e-mail [email protected]
