Weekend Farmer’s Market comes to Kings this month

June will be a tasty month at Kings Food Markets’ Old Greenwich location, where the store’s first Weekend Farmer’s Market will take place every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the month.

Kings promises to bring the best of Connecticut’s locally grown fruits and vegetables to the Old Greenwich community, featuring unique tastings and grilling favorites.

In addition to produce, the farmer’s market will feature a variety of barbecue favorites and unique tasting opportunities, all part of Kings’ commitment to bringing customers the freshest, locally-sourced products available.

Customers at the Weekend Farmer’s Market will have the opportunity to shop local, fresh summer produce from neighborhood farms. Gardening favorites like perennials, hanging flower baskets and organic soil are all available. In addition, Kings’ is offering a variety of outdoor samplings, in which experienced Kings’ chefs will grill sausages, shrimp skewers, mouth-watering ribs and appetizing hamburgers.

Shoppers looking for fresh produce during the week and throughout the summer can enjoy Kings’ Local Fresh 24/7 program. Launched exclusively by Kings last May and now available in its Old Greenwich store, the Local Fresh 24/7 program allows customers to experience the benefits of a local farm stand in the convenience of their neighborhood food market by delivering fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs to its aisles within 24 hours of being hand-picked at local farms.

Shoppers will also experience gourmet samplings, including juicy lemon caper shrimp, Mama Chia’s organic chia seed vitality beverages, flavored with a touch of agave nectar, and Aidell’s sweet, pineapple flavored hot dogs. Other exclusive tastings will include Gelato Giulana’s all-natural, artisan gelatos and Kings’ buffalo blue rotisserie chicken wraps, which are part of its extensive prepared food offerings.
