Angel Choir closes season Sunday

The Angel Choir has announced it will hold it’s final event of the season this Sunday, June 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at 303 Cognewaugh Road in Cos Cob.

The meeting is being held at the home of choir member Mary Hardy and the goal will be to perfect and perform two new songs. But it won’t all be work for the choir. Organizers said that the meeting will end with “a celebration of all our work this year” including a performance by Angel Flight, a new endeavor by the Angel Choir.

This group of solo singers will then represent the Angel Choir by singing at Greenwich Hospital’s ice cream social for cancer survivors on Monday, June 3 so this meeting will be a bit of a warm up for them.

The rehearsal will begin at 4 p.m. with the performance then slated for 6 p.m.

The Angel Choir rehearses and performs a complete choral performance in one afternoon with “joy in camaraderie while providing a platform for cancer patients, survivors, their families and friends or anyone who would like to sing to revivify their spirit.”

No audition or sight-singing skills are required and choir leaders call it a “learning experience that is not to be missed.”

The Angel Choir does not charge for admission or membership.
