New Hall of Famers: Local brothers win Small Business Success Award

Bre-Murphy-brothers-5-2A pair of Greenwich brothers were recently rewarded for their business savvy, winning the Business Council of Westchester’s Small Business Success Award and being inducted into the Westchester Business Hall of Fame.

Sean and Chris Murphy of Murphy Brothers Contracting received their accolades at a gala held last month at the Glen Island Harbor Club in New Rochelle, N.Y., with more than 625 in attendance.

Businesses and individuals are nominated for the Small Business Success Award by members of the Westchester business community and evaluated according to how the business has demonstrated effective business strategy, its contributions and commitment to the community and its efforts to build a more sustainable business through enforcing green initiatives within the organization.

Murphy Brothers Contracting is known throughout Westchester and southern Fairfield counties for building “beautifully designed custom homes, picture perfect whole-home renovations and distinctive commercial projects, as well as their own line of custom millwork.”

The company, headquartered in Mamaroneck, N.Y., employs 45 individuals and is a leader in the shelter industry, building a tradition of quality for 34 years.

The Murphy brothers’ names will be added at a future date to a plaque at the Westchester County Airport which holds all the names of past Business Council of Westchester winners who were recognized for professional excellence and their contributions to the Westchester business community.
