Bringing her own experience dealing with sudden tragedy to the table, author Lee Woodruff will present her debut novel Those We Love Most at the Perrot Memorial Library on May 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Married to newsman Bob Woodruff who suffered a traumatic brain injury while covering the war in Iraq, Ms. Woodruff relates to the characters in this story, the Corrigan family, whose settled life is abruptly altered by catastrophe.

Booklist’s review said, “Woodruff is surprisingly subtle in her nuanced portraits of the complexity of marriage and the great struggle to find meaning in life. Candid and heartfelt…”

In addition to this novel, Ms. Woodruff is the co-author, with her husband, of the number one New York Times bestseller In an Instant, and the author of the essay collection Perfectly Imperfect. She is a contributing editor to CBS This Morning and has written numerous articles on family and parenting for Parade, Ladies’ Home Journal, Redbook, Country Living, and Family Fun.

She and her husband also founded the Bob Woodruff Foundation to assist wounded service members and their families. Ms. Woodruff has four children and lives in Westchester County.
