Balducci’s offers a ‘Taste of Tuscany’

Find your favorite Italian flavors now through mid-May when Balducci’s Food Lovers Market will feature a Taste of Tuscany with oils, pastas, cheeses, coffee and chocolates imported from the hills of Tuscany.

Balducci’s buyers traveled to Italy to hand select the most delectable ingredients for local food lovers. The market has chosen a variety of simple products that embody the Tuscan lifestyle.

Available for the first time in the U.S., Prosciutto Tuscano D.O.P.’s curing is being performed dry using sea salt, pepper and natural flavorings such as garlic, rosemary and juniper. It is aged in San Gimignano, Italy for 14 to 15 months and goes perfectly with Balduccis’ Il Pepe Nero cheese which includes grains of pepper mixed into the milk at the blending stage.

Balducci’s also combined the tastes of Tuscany to create the Toscano Sandwich, which celebrates the flavors and traditions of the region. The rustic, flat, focaccia-style bread is filled with Prosciutto Toscana D.O.P. and Pecora La Vera, a Tuscan sheep’s milk, as well as pesto and arugula for extra spice and flavor.

Balducci’s hopes to inspire food lovers to create their own magical Tuscan moments at home with their premium artisanal products and fresh local ingredients.
