Greenwich Academy golf team blanks Rye Country Day School, 5-0

Camilla Vik fired a 2-under par 34 at the Apawamis Club on Monday to lead the Greenwich Academy golf team to a 5-0 shutout victory over Rye Country Day School.

Although Vik had a stellar outing, it almost wasn’t enough to beat Summer Kitahara at No. 1, however the GA standout was able to pull out the slim 2 & 1 victory. At No. 2 was GA’s Rachel Oates, who was able to grab the 4 & 3 victory over Jasmine Kitahara. Vik’s sister, Susana Vik, was able to dominate the No. 3 slot, beating Rye’s Kate Weiss 3 & 1.

Playing at No. 4 was Greenwich Academy’s Hope Matthews, who had another close match against a Rye Country Day opponent, but was able to take hold of a 2 & 1 victory over Madi Friedman. Rounding out the scoring for the Gators was Caroline Zhao, who finished off RCDS’s Andie Hearst 4 & 3.

The Gators will be back in action later on today when they battle Convent of the Sacred Heart and Riverdage Country School at the Round Hill Club.
