Sacred Heart tennis dominates singles, beats Choate 5-2

Winning all four singles matches, the Convent of the Sacred Heart golf team upended Choate Rosemary Hall 5-2 earlier today.

Leading the way for the Tigers was Michele Urbinati at No. 1 singles, beating Hannah Danziger 6-1, 6-1. Grace Conrad took care of Choate’s Ashley Barrett at No. 2 singles 6-1, 7-5. Not to be outdone was Madison Miles at No. 3 singles, who beat Choate’s Sophia Kaufman 6-2, 6-1.

Rounding out the competition at No. 4 singles was Maddie Church, who took care of Choate’s Petter Nagle 4-6, 6-1, 10-8.

Sacred Heart’s victory in doubles was at No. 3, where the duo of Hannah Godvin and Caroline Keller took care of Choate’s Jackie Bernstein and Nina Sheridan 6-4, 6-4.

Although the Tigers’ No.1 and No. 2 doubles weren’t able to pick up a victory, they didn’t go down without a fight. Brooke Wilkens and Cori Gabaldon lost to the Choate No. 1 doubles team of Maddie Barnes and Sara DeMarsillis, 2-6, 6-4, 9-11. The CSH duo of Julie Randolph and Clare Geithner lost to Natalia Shen and Rebecca Wang, 6-1, 3-6, 8-10.
