The art of family bonding

Enjoy a little family bonding on April 14 with a family portrait program featuring artist C.J. Guerin which the Greenwich Historical Society says will bring the entire family together to create a unique collaborative work of art.

People taking part in the program can first take a family-friendly tour of the Bush-Holley House to look at the various styles of portraiture that grace the walls of Greenwich’s only National Historic Landmark. Then they will be able to take a lesson in creating a self-portrait — from first sketch to the addition of final color.

Once finished, each family member will cut out and combine his or her creation with other family members’ works to fashion a unique collage. No previous art experience is required and all supplies will be included.

The program takes place this Sunday, April 14 in two sessions, each limited to five families from noon to 2:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 5 p.m.

Reservations and payment are required in advance. The cost for members is $10 and $15 for nonmembers at Bush-Holley Historic Site.

To reserve space, visit Greenwichhistory.org or call 203-869-6899, ext. 10.
