Town residents turned out in force Sunday afternoon to help out Kids in Crisis and leave special and colorful symbols outside the Board of Education office on Greenwich Avenue. To mark the 1,864 children who were abused or neglected last year in Fairfield County, volunteers have placed 1,864 pinwheels outside the building. The volunteers included Edie Prescott and her eight-year-old son Gordon, who were doing this as part of Temple Sholom’s Mitzvah Day, when congregation members helped out worthy causes all over town. The pinwheels will be on display through April 30.
