Adopt-A-Dog to raise funds for animal rescue groups with tag sale

Neighbors and friends will gather for a wagging weekend affair to raise money for several local animal rescue groups this Saturday and Sunday when Adopt-A-Dog hosts their first annual Rummage for Rescue Tag Sale at the Banksville Community Center.

The community is invited to bring children, grandparents, neighbors and friends — but pets must be left at home for this event. In addition to the tag sale, the event will feature a special silent auction area for donated dog art including portraits, paintings, pillows, statues, yard items and more.

In addition to items being sold to raise funds by Adopt-A-Dog, individuals can also rent their own table for $25 to sell their own items. Acceptable items in good condition to sell at your own table include small furniture, bric a brac, DVDs, CDs, shoes, toys, games, home décor, working electronics, hardware or yard items, baby and children’s new or gently used items, sports equipment (no shoes, cleats or clothing) and kitchenware. Organizers have asked that individuals not sell books, clothing, stuffed animals or very large furniture. T

o rent a table or donate items, visit events page or call 914-273-1674. Photos of items can be e-mailed to [email protected] to determine if they can be accepted or stored.
