Sacred Heart lacrosse open season with 16-6 win over Kent

The start of the season couldn’t have gone any better for the Convent of the Sacred Heart lacrosse team, as they traveled up to Kent and came away with the commanding 16-2 victory earlier today.

The Tigers, who outscored Kent 8-3 in the first half, were led by the duo of Colleen O’Neill and Catherine Hayden, who each finished with a hat trick. Not to be outdone was Allie Kenny, who finished with two goals and two assists.

Taylor Ryan and Mo Leitner each pitched in with two goals and one assist, whileEmma Novick added one goal and one assist. Brooke Peeler and Kate Larkin rounded out the scoring with one goal apiece.

The duo of Maddie Pillari and Amanda Crowell combined to make three saves on the afternoon.

With the victory, Sacred Heart upped its overall record to 1-0 on the season and will return home on Saturday to play Loomis Chaffee School at 4.
