Walko to headline meeting

The Old Greenwich Association will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, April 10, with newly-elected State Rep. Stephen Walko as the featured speaker.

Mr. Walko (R-150th) is a Greenwich native and former chairman of the Board of Estimate and Taxation. He was elected to the legislature last November, succeeding the retired Rep. Lile Gibbons. He will discuss the latest news from Hartford as well as focus on what railroad bridge repairs will mean for residents.

The town’s Director of Conservation Denise Savageau will also speak at the meeting, addressing the town’s new Planning and Zoning regulations and the status of Binney Park dredging.

The meeting will be held April 10 starting at 7 p.m. with the “coffee and conversation.” Then at 7:30, the meeting’s business will begin and the presentations will follow.

The meeting will be held at the First Congregational Church at 108 Sound Beach Avenue. More information is available online at oldgreenwich.org.

Refreshments for the meeting were generously donated by the Upper Crust Bagel Company and LexZee.
