Senate has wrong priorities on gun control

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

Just because something is constitutional, it doesn’t make it right or good.

What is constitutional now is often not constitutional later and vice versa. For example, segregated schools were constitutional but are not now.

That Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he would not bring legislation limiting high-capacity ammunition magazines to the Senate floor because it would not pass is wrong. His criteria for bringing legislation to be voted on should instead be, “Is it good for the country?”

Our politicians keep telling us there is so much conflict that the system is broken. Well, they run the system.
