The First Bank of Greenwich continues to support local artists, recently evidenced by a formal reception where the bank’s 2012 Artists were showcased.

About 175 people mingled throughout the evening and though there was the threat of bad weather, the Greenwich Police Department maximized the overflowing parking lot and controlled traffic.

Mark Mazzotta, owner of Pomodoro, served a delicious selection of hors d’oeuvres, sparking waters and desserts, with wines provided by Randy’s Wines of Cos Cob and music by guitar player Norm Dodge.

The artists showcased were Jay Castle, Dona Menton, Frank Smurlo, Michael Spezzano and Brooke Ann Cottle-Haggerty. All of their works are on display until March 31.

The bank’s April artist will be Katherine Petitti Kornel, who will be honored at a reception April 17 from 5 to 7 p.m.
