Daniarov’s efforts show benefit of local businesses

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

The recent article by Kait Shea in the Greenwich Post (Feb. 14) about Dmitri and Susana Daniarov, owners of Greenwich Pharmacy, who agreed to fund The Nathaniel Witherell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center’s music therapy program, thereby allowing it to continue for the remainder of the year, was very impactful.

With many locally owned pharmacies fighting for survival while CVS and Walgreens seem to appear at every corner, the community spirit and generosity exhibited by the Daniarovs is to be commended. While chain stores are happy to take our money, it’s the locally owned businesses that time and time again give back, improving the quality and character of our community.

I’d like to publicly say thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Daniarov for providing such a meaningful example of what a community is and does for each other.
