Dinner and a show at Greenwich Arts Council

Performing arts producer JIB Productions says it’s time to “Play With Your Food” by attending selected performances that fall under the program of the same name taking place March 13 at the Greenwich Arts Council.

Now in its 11th season, Play With Your Food  is a theater program that includes a buffet lunch and dessert, short-play readings by professional actors and a post-show discussion.

In Greenwich, productions will include Barbara’s Wedding by Daniel Stern. Written by the actor, known for his work in the Home Alone and City Slicker movies, the play is about an out-of-work television actor and his wife as they examine their own marriage in the midst of the wedding madness surrounding their famous neighbor, Barbra Streisand, who has not invited them to her elaborate Malibu nuptials.

Color Coordination by Benjamin Conrick, featuring Susan Vanech of Fairfield, also will be performed.

The Lonely Impulse of Delight by Pulitzer Prize-winner and Academy Award-winner John Patrick Shanley will round out the program.

The 2013 Play With Your Food season concludes next month with performances at Greenwich Arts Council on April 24 and 25.

Play With Your Food tickets are priced at $43 per show and include lunch.

To purchase tickets and to see the complete schedule, visit jibproductions.org or call the box office at 203-293-8831 Monday to Friday, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Performances are held from noon to 1:30 p.m. In March, lunch will be catered by Le Pain Quotidien in Greenwich.
