Church’s stained glass history discussed

The beauty and history of stained glass has been fascinating both to the devout and the more secular-minded people

Now people have the chance to view some of the rich history of First Congregational Church of Greenwich through its collection of stained glass windows. The historic church was founded in 1665 and is offering up a tour for those interested in church history and the beauty of glass artwork.

On Sunday, March 10 there will be a tour of the church’s stained glass windows. These windows portray many stories and they will be discussed as part of the tour, which will be conducted by church members Tamara Ng-Yow and Pat Larrabee.

The tour begins at 11:15 a.m. in the church’s meeting house at 108 Sound Beach Avenue, Old Greenwich.

Call the church office at 203-637-1791 for more information or visit fccog.org. Once there you simply click “About Us,” then “Our Building,” then “Our Stained Glass Window Tour” to learn more.
