Local blood drive scheduled March 4

Snag the chance to be a hero on Monday, March 4, when the American Red Cross will hold a Community Blood Drive at Temple Sholom at 300 East Putnam Avenue from 1:30 to 6:15 p.m.

The American Red Cross is encouraging all those who can to donate blood during March, which is Red Cross Month, and be an “American Red Cross Everyday Hero.” One blood donation can potentially help up to three patients in need.

Call 800-733-2767 or visit Redcrossblood.org to make an appointment at a community blood drive near you. Individuals who are 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.

High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
