Ballroom dancers to get hospital benefit moving

Twirl yourself over to the 28th annual Great Chefs fund-raiser for the Greenwich Hospital and community, and you’ll be entertained by students of the Arthur Murray Grande Ballroom of Greenwich, who will dance their way through the event.

The Grande Ballroom, known for promoting movement and dance across Fairfield County and upper Westchester County as a fun and exciting way to stay vibrant and healthy, will feature a center stage performance, roaming dances, salsa-in-seconds demonstrations and will be on hand to dance with the anticipated 800 attendees.

“We want to add an element of exotic fun to the mix,” said Christine Georgopulo, president and owner of the Arthur Murray Grande Ballroom of Greenwich.

The event takes place Friday, March 1 and will feature an evening of Epicurean delights to benefit community health in Westchester and Fairfield counties and Greenwich Hospital, which provides educational programs, healthcare screenings and support groups to Connecticut and New York residents.

The ‘Great Chefs’ will present a feast of signature dishes, and beverages from many of the finest restaurants, catering companies and beverage distributors in Connecticut and New York will be featured.

In addition, the Grande Ballroom will donate a dance program to the winner of the fund-raiser’s raffle and will offer special, preferred rates for its dance classes to the attendees.

The event will also include silent, live and wine auctions, with proceeds donated to the hospital.

“Our exciting performances will enhance the excellence of the culinary talent that the event showcases,” Ms. Georgopulo said. “This combination of talent has ensured that the Greenwich Hospital fund-raiser has always been a sell-out and has become one of the premier social events of the season.”

Great Chefs 2013, beginning at 7 p.m., will be held at the Westchester Country Club, 99 Biltmore Avenue, Rye, N.Y.
