SWRPA releases report on electric cars

The South Western Regional Planning Agency (SWRPA) recently announced the release of its Electric Vehicle Technology and Infrastructure Report.

In order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and comply with anticipated rigorous state and federal standards, SWRPA developed part one of an overall Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Plan to prepare the region for this emerging technology. Elements of the plan include a discussion of existing conditions, types of vehicles, costs, challenges, charging requirements and locations, incentives and market conditions. A presentation entitled “Electric Vehicles — Becoming a Plug-In Pioneer” was also developed as a guide suitable for educating the public on the topic.

Both the report and the presentation can be found on the SWRPA website at Swrpa.org/default.aspx?Transport=298.

SWRPA is the official regional planning organization for eight municipalities in lower Fairfield County, including Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton.
