Acclaimed flutist to perform at Round Hill

gl-church-concert-2-21Renowned flutist Jessica Aura Taskov is expected to wow the Round Hill Community Church this Sunday, Feb. 23 , with a performance including selections from the J.S. Bach flute sonatas beginning at 10 a.m.

Ms. Taskov will also join soprano Risa Renae Harman in the joyful aria I Will Follow Thee Gladly from the St. John Passion.

Recently described as “exquisite” by the South Florida Classical Review, Ms. Taskov performs as an orchestral player, chamber musician, and soloist. She has performed with the Munich Symphony, Florida Grand Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Seraphic Fire, Palm Beach Pops, Southwest Florida Symphony, DiCapo Opera, Opera on Tap, and various other groups throughout New York City and Florida.

In 2013 she will play the world premiere of Daniel Felsenfeld’s Double Piccolo Concerto with Stephanie Mortimore.

Her teachers include Robert Langevin, principal flute at the NY Philharmonic, and Ms. Mortimore, solo piccolo of the MET Opera. Ms. Taskov received her BM from Purchase College with Tara O’Connor, and MM from LYNN University in Boca Raton on full scholarship with Renee Siebert. A native New Yorker, she currently lives in Westchester with her husband, oboist Veroslav Taskov.

All are welcome at the Round Hill Community Church, an independent, interdenominational Christian church, located at 395 Round Hill Road. Sunday worship services are at 10 a.m., childcare is available.
