Neighbor to Neighbor provides volunteer training

If you’re looking for a way to volunteer your time for a good cause, look no further than Neighbor to Neighbor. The town’s clothing and food pantry will host a training session on Thursday, Feb. 21 for anyone interested in volunteering with the organization.

Neighbor to Neighbor improves lives by providing for the exchange of food, clothing and basic living essentials in an atmosphere of kindness and respect. Volunteers are needed to sort food and clothing donations, stock pantry shelves, maintain the clothing room and assist clients. Volunteer opportunities also include conducting food and clothing drives, shopping for the food pantry and assisting with data entry and office projects. Spanish speakers are especially needed.

Volunteer shifts are Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Thursdays 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Training will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21 at Neighbor to Neighbor, 248 East Putnam Avenue. Breakfast will be served.
