Town orchestra looking for high school talent

Are you a teenager with a talent for playing music? The Greenwich Symphony Orchestra is now accepting applications from high school seniors who are gifted instrumental music students in Fairfield County, for its 52nd Annual Music Award.

A single prize of $1,000, or split prizes, will be awarded. The winner of the prestigious award will be honored on stage at the orchestra’s final concert of the 2012-2013 season, on Sunday, April 21, in the Greenwich High School auditorium.

Applicants must send a completed application form, postmarked no later than Feb. 15, to: Award Chairman, Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, P.O. Box 35, Greenwich, CT 06836.

Qualified applicants will be notified before Feb. 20, and will be invited to compete in auditions held in Greenwich in March.

Application forms are obtainable from the chairman of the music department in all secondary schools or by calling 203-869-2664.
