Greenwich resident Belicka strong for ECSU on, off field

Greenwich native and Eastern Connecticut State University rugby standout Greg Belicka has been a key contributor in the recent success ECSU had this season.

Eastern finished the season 6-1 overall in the New England Rugby Football Union’s Division III men’s league, beating Springfield College (18-17), Western New England (57-7), University of Hartford (31-17), New Haven U23 (26-0), Western Connecticut (33-12) and Trinity College (62-7).

Against Trinity College, Belicka netted the final Tri of the afternoon to ice the division for Eastern Connecticut State University.

When not on the rugby field, Belicka is volunteering throughout the community, having refurbished the dining room at the Holy Family Home and Shelter and also served meals at the Convenant Soup Kitchen.

Belicka, a junior, is majoring in Sports & Lesiure Management.
