Kathryn Caldwell Lent, 99, Depression-era factory worker

Kathryn Caldwell Lent formerly of Greenwich, died on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Stamford Hospital. She was 99.

Born Dec. 28, 1912 in town, she was the daughter of the late Morton and Pauline Riickerl Caldwell.

She worked during the depression in the factories in Old Greenwich and Stamford. She married Burton De Wolf Lent in 1938 and moved to Stamford where she lived for the remainder of her life. She also worked during the Second World War and in the Stamford public school system cafeterias. She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Lent was predeceased by her husband of 43 years and her brothers George and Quentin Caldwell of Riverside, sisters Edna Sheeran of Stamford, Ethel Moshier of Cos Cob and Melita Magness of Riverside.

Interment will be held privately at the First Congregational Church Cemetery in Old Greenwich. Words of sympathy and comfort may be sent to the family at Leopgallagherstamford.com.
