Paula Jane Epprecht, a former Greenwich resident died on Friday, Jan. 6. She was 90.
Mrs. Epprecht was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and raised in Brooklyn and Greenwich. She married John "Jack" Epprecht Jr. and settled in Long Island in the 1940s, working at Sperry Gyroscope while her husband began a long career at Springs Industries.
The couple gave birth to their first child, John, in 1951 and moved to Darien several years later. A second child, David, was born in 1959.
Mrs. Epprecht was active in the Darien Community Association and the Garden Club of Darien. She was a dog lover, and always had the company of one or two canine companions, her family said.
She traveled widely with her husband on business. She and Jack retired to the Carolinas in 1987. Mrs. Epprecht returned to Connecticut as a widow, moving to Monroe in 1998.
Mrs. Epprecht is survived by sons John of Fairfield and David of Rowayton, their spouses, Chris and Margo, five grandchildren, Josh, Aaron and Seth Freeman, Liza and Andrew Epprecht, and four great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours are at Edward Lawrence Funeral Home in Darien on Friday, Jan. 13, from 4 to 6. A memorial service will be held at the Talmadge Hill Church in Darien at 4 on Saturday, Jan. 14.
