Joan Davidson, real estate broker, longtime Greenwich resident

Joan Orteig Davidson, a 41-year resident of Greenwich who worked in the real estate business for many years, died on Monday evening, Nov. 14.

Mrs. Davidson was born on March 13, 1919, in New York City to Jules Pierre Orteig and Marguerite Brennan. She lived in Westchester for much of her early life. She was a graduate of The Ursuline School in New Rochelle, and attended Marymount and Manhattanville colleges. For many years she was a real estate broker with Smith, Hekker and Collins in Greenwich which eventually became part of Coldwell Banker.

Mrs. Davidson was predeceased by her husband, John Rudolph Davidson, her son, William Norris Davidson, her sisters, Marguerite Blish and Celeste Andruss, and her brothers, Jules and Theodore Orteig.

She is survived by her children, John Kevin Davidson (Susan) of Darien, Jennifer Davidson of Del Mar, Calif., Gary Davidson (Eileen) of New Rochelle, N.Y., Margo Grunden (Eric) of Darien, Scott Davidson (Janet) of Stamford and Christopher Davidson (Mary Lou) of Charlotte, N.C. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be on Friday, Nov. 18, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Leo Gallagher and Sons Funeral Home at 31 Arch Street, Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, Riverside. Burial will be at The Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
