In the tradition of group-centered leadership, Mario Sinicariello, V.P. TransCon Builders, parent company of Greenwich Woods Rehabilitation and Health Care Center with facilities in Wilton, Hamden and New Milford, met together recently for a weekend event in Waterbury.
Referred to as The Dementia Leadership Summit, the meeting was a celebration of accomplishments and a look into the future, with new techniques and programs to improve the lives of Alzheimer and dementia patients.Michael Tartaglia, Greenwich Woods administrator, said that the introduction of “Reflection Connection” epitomizes the distinctive benefits of Greenwich Woods: To be first with innovative ideas to improve each resident’s quality of life. A video will be made using photographs from every decade of the resident’s life that the family can provide.
Many plans for advanced care for dementia and Alzheimer’s patients were shared at the meeting. The accomplishments of the past two years were reviewed, especially involvement of everyone who has any contact with residents, including staff members who deliver clothes from the laundry.
Mr. Trataglia summed up the theme of the event as “ a collaboration of our visions for the future, to make our dementia care the most enlightened, the most effective and second to none.”
