Based on the Broadway classic and popular comic strip, Annie Jr. will be bringing the story of Little Orphan Annie to life at Western Middle School with a cast of 60 students in sixth to eighth grades singing, dancing and betting that their bottom dollars will entertain audiences.
Annie Jr. tells the story of a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the embittered Miss Hannigan. The “Jr.” version of Annie is shorter but still contains perennial favorites such as Tomorrow, Hard Knock Life and NYC.The production is directed by Larissa Friedenberg.
Performances of Annie Jr. will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3 and 4. Tickets are $10 each and are available at the door.
