Greenwich improv actor Fred Seufert adds his comedic skills to The Town Players of New Canaan’s family holiday show, Little Red Riding Hood, A Panto, described as a light-hearted spoof on the familiar fairy tale.
Mr. Seufert plays as one of the three pigs, Dewey, as in Dewey, Cheetum and Howe, the show’s publicists proclaimed. Mr. Seufert has studied acting and improvisational theatre at SUNY Purchase, has performed with the improvisational troupes Grown-Up’s Playground and Undiscovered Treasures, and is a member of the improv troupe Funny Side Up.
The show, which opened on Dec. 9 continues with performances on Friday, Dec. 16, at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 17 and 18, at 2:30 at the Powerhouse Theatre, Waveny Park, 677 South Ave., New Canaan.
The Town Players and the U.S. Marine Corps will continue a 29-year tradition, collecting gifts for children age six months through 12 years old at the Saturday, Dec. 10, Toys for Tots matinee. The price of admission for children at this performance only is one unwrapped toy.
Before the show, after depositing his or her present in the Town Players’ Merry Wives of Windsor wicker basket, each child shakes hands with a U.S. Marine, who makes a cameo performance at the beginning of the play. Tickets otherwise are $10 for adults, seniors and children for all performances. To reserve tickets, call 203-966-7371.
This will be the Town Players’ 15th Christmas pantomime.
