After six terms in office, State Rep. Lile Gibbons (R-150) announced Wednesday night that it was time to step away and that she would not be going for lucky number seven.
Ms. Gibbons made the announcement before the Greenwich Republican Town Committee who thanked her for her service with a standing ovation. Ms. Gibbons was first elected to the state legislature in 2000 after serving as chairman of the Board of Education. She won her seat narrowly after a tightly contested Republican primary and ironically never faced a challenge again, running unopposed for all of her general elections.

Greenwich Flames Basketball Club picked up their second tournament trophy of the season this President’s Day in White Plains, N.Y.
Greenwich beat Ridgefield, 40-37 in the finals of the Westchester Basketball Championship Tournament. Yorktown, White Plains and Mt. Vernon all fell to Greenwich in the weekend-long tournament.
This is the first time Greenwich has won the competitive WBC Tournament. Greenwich player Emmett Witmer received the Tournament Most Valuable Player trophy and was also named to the First Team All-Tournament. Nick Bartels was named the WBC Outstanding Player.
