LETTER: Cruel Legislation

House Joint Resolution 69 (and the Senate companion, Senate Joint Resolution 18) would allow hunters in wildlife refuges to shoot hibernating bears with cubs; kill wolves and their pups near their dens; use airplanes to scout, land and shoot grizzly bears; and use steel-jawed leghold traps and wire neck snares to kill black and grizzly bears.

If we were to use the National Popular Vote results in elections, this would better represent the views of our Connecticut voters across the political spectrum.

Forever loved and forever remembered

As we say goodbye to 2016 and enter the New Year we would like to reflect back on the tragic loss of our 24-year-old boy Forrest A. Ryan, who lost his life on June 13, 2016 in a motorcycle accident in our hometown of Monroe, Conn.
