The Greenwich Lions Club welcomed two new members to the organization recently with the addition of Suzanne Popajohn and Ed Philipp.

Ms. Popajohn is a Riverside resident and author of The Illustrated Guide to Assistive Technology, an aid for people with disabilities in the workplace and lifespace. Mr. Philipp, CEO of the YMCA of Greenwich, has been a Lion for ten years and worked with the New Rochelle and Rye City organizations formerly.

The Greenwich Lions work to improve community life for youth, seniors and particularly the visually and hearing impaired. The Greenwich Lions Foundation supports the Yale Juvenile Eye Research Facility and the Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation among other organizations who are hard at work researching juvenile diabetes and macular degeneration.

Over the past 50 years, financial support from the foundation has helped build one of the biggest large-print libraries in the state, at Greenwich Library. With other area Lions Clubs, it also established and supports the Low Vision Centers of Fairfield and New Haven counties located on West Main Street at the Greenwich/Stamford border.
