Connecticut Poetry Society holds teen poetry contest

The Connecticut Poetry Society will hold a teen poetry contest open to students in grades 9-12 in memory of Lynn DeCaro, a promising young Connecticut Poetry Society member who died of leukemia in 1986.

Submission deadline is March 15.

First prize is $75; second prize $50 and third prize is $25.

Guidelines:

  • Send up to three poems, any form, no more than 40 lines.
  • Include two copies of each poem, one with NO name or information, the other with: Name, address, email, phone, and school name (please indicate if homeschool).
  • Both copies must be marked: ¬†Lynn DeCaro Poetry Competition.

For results, include a self-addressed stamped envelope to Lynn DeCaro Poetry Competition, PO Box 270554, West Hartford, CT 06127-0554.
